Bilingual Instruction in Denver Public Schools

Research shows that learning in two languages helps students become proficient in English and offers benefits for their cognitive skills and social-emotional development. Students who are bilingual have advantages in college and career. That's why we provide bilingual instruction in schools that have sufficient Spanish-speaking Multilingual Learners and encourage all students to work towards earning the Seal of Biliteracy.

Transitional Native Language Instruction and Dual Immersion are grouped under the umbrella term Bilingual Instruction. An alternative to Bilingual Insturction is English as a Second Language support.
